BOGOTA, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Colombia will cut its 2016 budget by 6 trillion pesos ($1.8 billion), equivalent to 0.7 percent of gross domestic product, Finance Minister Mauricio Cardenas said on Friday, in order to reduce the fiscal deficit to 3.6 percent.
The country's central bank board raised the benchmark interest rate to 6.25 percent to combat inflation and a high current account deficit. (Reporting by Bogota newsroom)
