BRASILIA Feb 18 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank is keeping a very close eye on consumer prices and will continue to make sure inflation slows down in 2014 and beyond, central bank chief Alexandre Tombini said on Tuesday.

Tombini said in a conference call with foreign reporters that he did not expect a recession in late 2013 or in 2014.
