RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Brazilian miner Vale said on Thursday it produced 85.7 million tonnes of iron ore in the third quarter, the highest production figure in the company’s history.
Production of iron ore was up 3 percent on the same period last year, and 7.9 percent higher than the previous quarter.
The company said it produced 72,100 tonnes of nickel in the quarter, up 16.4 percent on the same quarter last year.
Vale produced 2.34 million tonnes of coal, while copper production was 104,800 tonnes.
