MONTEVIDEO, June 15 (Reuters) - Uruguay's economy grew 0.6 percent in the first quarter of 2015 against the previous three months, the central bank said on Monday, while it expanded 4.0 percent on a year-on-year basis.
The government and markets expect the economy to expand less than 3 percent in 2015 and 2016 due to the economic crises in key trading partners and neighbors, Brazil and Argentina.
Growth in the cattle-ranching nation slowed last year to 3.5 percent from 5.1 percent in 2013. (Reporting by Malena Castaldi; Writing by Sarah Marsh; Editing by Chris Reese)
