Brazil gov't to allow extensions to power distribution concessions
SAO PAULO, June 3 (Reuters) - The Brazilian government published a decree in the Official Federal Gazette on Wednesday that will allow the Mines and Energy Ministry to extend concessions for power distributors for 30 years.
Contracts to operate power distribution concessions for several companies are due to expire in the coming years, creating regulatory uncertainty that has hindered investment in the sector. (Reporting by Reese Ewing; editing by Jason Neely)
