BUENOS AIRES, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Argentina said on Friday that consumer prices rose 1.2 percent in August versus the prior month, in line with market expectations for the official reading, leaving the year-on-year rate of inflation at 14.7 percent.
Most private analysts question the accuracy of government statistics and estimate that inflation in Latin America's third largest economy is higher.
Data published by lawmakers in Argentina's Congress and compiled from private estimates put inflation at 26.60 percent in the year to August. (Reporting by Buenos Aires newsroom; Writing by Richard Lough; Editing by Diane Craft)
