Uruguay says 2015 inflation 9.44 percent

MONTEVIDEO, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Uruguay’s inflation was 9.44 percent in 2015, government data showed on Tuesday, a rate slightly slower than the 9.6 percent forecast in a central bank poll of economists.

For the month of December, the National Statistics Institute said consumer prices fell 0.55 percent, below the -0.40 percent anticipated in the bank’s poll. (Reporting by Matias Larramendi; Writing by Richard Lough; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
