MADRID, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Spanish builder Sacyr reported on Friday a net loss of 496 million euros ($679 million) for 2013, reduced from a 977 million euro net loss the previous year.
The company said net debt at the end of 2013 was 6.642 billion euros, down from 8.643 billion euros at end 2012.
The Panama Canal project, fraught by disputes over costs, had a negative effect of 127 million euros on 2013 net profit, the company said. ($1 = 0.7309 euros) (Reporting By Sonya Dowsett; Editing by Julien Toyer)
