BRASILIA, July 11 (Reuters) - Economists cut their forecasts
for Brazil's 2017 inflation rate for a second straight week in a
central bank poll, moving it closer to the center of the
official target of 4.5 percent as policymakers keep interest
rates at their highest since 2006.
The median forecast of about 100 economists in the poll
projected the 2017 inflation rate at 5.40 percent, down from
5.43 percent in the prior week's survey, the bank said on
Monday. The forecast for the 2016 inflation rate was also down
to 7.26 percent, from 7.27 percent previously.
