BRASILIA, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Economists raised their
forecasts for Brazil's 2017 economic growth and trimmed
inflation estimates in a weekly central bank poll, adding bets
on a more solid recovery from the harsh recession in Latin
America's largest economy.
The median estimate of about 100 economists in the poll
projected Brazil's 2017 economic growth at 1.2 percent, up from
a prior estimate of 1.1 percent, the central bank said on
Monday. Inflation was forecast at 5.12 percent, down from 5.14
percent in the prior week's survey but still above the
government's target of 4.5 percent.
