MILAN, March 27 (Reuters) - Italian cement maker Buzzi Unicem expects recurring operating profit in 2014 to be in line or slightly better than last year as the crisis in Ukraine and its currency impact counter a healthy U.S. market and a budding recovery in Europe.
The company reported a 5.7 percent increase in its 2013 core earnings to 481 million euros as better results in the U.S. and Central Europe more than offset contraction in Eastern Europe and Mexico and weakness in Italy.
Buzzi Unicem, which runs plants both in Ukraine and Russia, said it proposed a dividend of 0.05 euros per share. (Reporting by Francesca Landini)
