BUENOS AIRES, April 5 (Reuters) - Argentina reported a primary budget deficit of $703.2 million in February, chiefly due to higher public spending, the government said on Friday night.

The primary budget balance reflects the government's finances before paying debts. Argentina has been virtually shut out of global credit markets since a 2002 default and it uses the central bank's international reserves to repay creditors. (Reporting by Maximiliano Rizzi; Editing by Stephen Powell)
