Stora-Arauco's Uruguay pulp mill gets key permit, begins ops
SANTIAGO, June 5 (Reuters) - Finland's Stora Enso and Chile's Arauco on Thursday received a long-waited environmental permit for their $2 billion pulp mill in Uruguay, Arauco said.
The Montes del Plata plant, which is slated to produce an annual 1.3 million tonnes of eucalyptus pulp when it is at full capacity, began operating on Thursday, the company added in a statement to the Chilean regulator. (Reporting by Alexandra Ulmer; Editing by Lisa Shumaker)
