Brazil's state-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA will invest 83.4 billion reais ($37.2 billion) in 2015, according to government budget projections released on Thursday. Based on the current exchange rate, the amount is 15 percent below the average $44.2 billion Petrobras, as the company is known, said it will spend each year under its $221 billion 2014-2017 investment plan.
The total is 79 percent of the 105.7 billion reais that companies owned or controlled by Brazil's federal government plan to spend in 2015, the government said.
