HOUSTON, Nov 7 (Reuters) - U.S. oil company Citizens Energy has been awarded a tender to buy five 190,000-barrel cargoes of fuel oil from state-run oil company Petroecuador with deliveries starting this month at Esmeraldas port, traders told Reuters on Friday.
Petroecuador has launched several tenders in recent months to buy finished fuels for its domestic market and sell refining feedstock while its 110,000 barrel per day (bpd) Esmeraldas refinery undergoes a major overhaul.
Citizens Energy and Petroecuador agreed to a price of $1.99 per barrel below fuel oil No. 6 at the U.S. Gulf Coast for the five cargoes, traders added. The first delivery is scheduled for Nov. 25-27, according to the tender’s terms.
The U.S. company won a previous offer, in May, to supply Petroecuador with 19 cargoes of ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD). Singapore-based Noble Group, Spain’s Repsol and PetroChina Co Ltd. have also been awarded with tenders launched by Petroecuador recently. (Reporting by Marianna Parraga; Editing by Peter Galloway)
