(Correct para 3 to show overall deficit is for Dec, not whole of 2014)
BUENOS AIRES, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Argentina's primary fiscal deficit widened 17.3 percent in December against the same month a year earlier to 23.336 billion pesos ($2.73 billion), government data showed on Friday.
The result does not include debt interest payments. The primary budget is closely followed by financial markets as it represents a country's capability to honor its financial commitments.
The Economy Ministry said the overall fiscal deficit for December 2014 widened 24.9 percent on the previous year to 31.987 billion pesos. (Reporting by Jorge Otaola; Writing by Richard Lough; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
