Brazil economy sheds nearly 98,000 jobs in April, defying expectations
SAO PAULO May 22 (Reuters) - Brazil's economy shed a net 97,828 payroll jobs in April, the labor ministry said on Friday, defying market forecasts for a recovering job market.
Latin America's largest economy was expected to have added 54,000 payroll jobs in April, according to the median forecast of 10 economists. Brazil added 19,000 jobs in March. (Reporting by Brad Haynes)
