Brazil sells 9 of 10 inactive, marginal areas offered at auction
RIO DE JANEIRO Dec 10 (Reuters) - Brazil's oil regulator ANP said on Thursday that it raised 4.25 million reais ($1.12 million) with the sale of nine out of 10 marginal oil-rights concessions it offered at an auction of inactive areas.
The areas were offered to small Brazilian producers. They border existing discoveries that have failed to attract previous drilling interest or were found to be commercially inviable.
