Brazil's antitrust regulator and federal prosecutors issued a joint report on Thursday recommending that education company Anhanguera Educacional Participações SA sell some assets following its merger with Kroton Educacional SA .
Kroton struck a deal to acquire Anhanguera a year ago in an all-stock deal worth about 5 billion reais ($2.28 billion) at the time, making it Brazil's biggest education firm.
Shares of Anhanguera extended losses in afternoon trading to about 6 percent while Kroton fell around 1 percent.
