LISBON, June 4 (Reuters) - The Portuguese government has challenged a court injunction blocking the privatisation of state-owned airline TAP by using the so-called "public interest" clause, which it says puts the process back on track without causing delays.
Cabinet Minister Luis Marques Guedes said the resolution approved at a cabinet meeting earlier on Thursday and to be presented to the court "allows to resume the normality of the process".
The government has set Friday as the deadline for final, binding bids in the sale of a 61 percent controlling stake in flag carrier TAP and it has said earlier it had no intention of changing the date. (Reporting By Andrei Khalip, editing by Shrikesh Laxmidas)
