Peru's economy expands 6.04 pct in Feb yr/yr on surge in copper

LIMA, April 15 (Reuters) - Peru's economy grew at a faster-than-expected rate of 6.04 percent in February from the same month a year ago as copper output surged and construction activity recovered, state statistics agency Inei said on Friday.

A Reuters poll this week had forecast a 5.1 percent year-on-year economic expansion in February. (Reporting By Mitra Taj; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
