WARSAW, May 15 (Reuters) - Copper producer KGHM's Sierra Gorda mine project in Chile may exceed $4 billion in cost, compared to the previously anticipated $3.9 billion, Chief Financial Officer Jaroslaw Romanowski said on Thursday.
Sierra Gorda, one of the world's largest copper projects, is due to begin production by mid-2014.
"The general cost of the project may exceed 4 billion dollars. "We will publish its final valuation once it's finished," Romanowski told reporters. (Reporting by Adrian Krajewski; Writing by Marcin Goclowski; Editing by Christian Lowe)
