Chile's CMPC sees $200 mln hit from Brazil paper plant halt

SANTIAGO, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Chilean forestry firm CMPC said Thursday that damage at its Guiaba 2 cellulose plant in Brazil had forced it to halt operations at that plant until November, costing the company an estimated $200 million in lost sales and repairs.

Problems with a boiler at the plant in Rio Grande do Sul came to light during a programmed maintenance in July, CMPC said in a statement to Chile' securities regulator. (Reporting by Rosalba O'Brien; Editing by Lisa Shumaker)
