Chile central bank divided on August rate hold

SANTIAGO, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Chile’s central bank did not unanimously vote to keep the benchmark interest rate on hold at its meeting in August, with one board member electing to cut the rate 25 basis points, minutes from that meeting showed on Friday.

At the meeting, the bank held the rate at 2.5 percent and maintained its neutral bias, even as some analysts are expecting near-term easing due to slowing inflation.
