Colombia's central bank rate decision back by 4 of 6 board members

BOGOTA, March 24 (Reuters) - The decision by Colombia's central bank to cut the benchmark interest rate to 7 percent was back by 4 of 6 board members, the central bank said on Friday.

Only six of the usual seven board members were present to vote. One policymaker wanted to hold the rate, while another favored a 50 basis point cut and the remaining four favored a quarter point cut. (Reporting by Bogota newsroom)
