Colombia's economy grew 2.8 pct in the second quarter, gov't says

BOGOTA, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Colombia’s economy expanded 2.8 percent during the second quarter versus the same period in 2017, the government’s statistics agency DANE said on Wednesday, above the 2.55 percent growth expected by the market.

Expansion was 0.6 percent in the second quarter compared with the first quarter, DANE said. Second quarter growth in 2017 was 1.7 percent. (Reporting by Julia Symmes Cobb)
