RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Brazil’s state-run oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA produced about 2.1 million barrels of oil per day in August, Chief Executive Officer Maria das Graças Foster said on Wednesday.
“Our production is up for the seventh month,” Foster said at an oil industry event in Rio de Janeiro. “We are enthusiastic about the present and complete believers in the near future.”
Earlier this month the company reaffirmed its forecast for a 7.5 percent increase in Brazilian oil output in 2014, challenging growing concern the company will extend a decade of failure in meeting production targets.
