Argentina posts $106 mln trade deficit in January

BUENOS AIRES, Feb 21 (Reuters) - Argentina posted a trade deficit of $106 million in January, narrower than the $177 million trade deficit the country posted in the same month last year, the government’s INDEC statistics agency said on Tuesday.

Exports totaled $4.2 billion in January, up 9.3 percent from January 2016, while imports rose 7.1 percent to $4.3 billion, INDEC said. The agency also revised its December trade surplus figures down to $61 million, from $65 million previously. (Reporting by Luc Cohen; Editing by Chris Reese)
