Italy's Enel SpA buys Brazil's Celg-D for 2.18 bln reais

SAO PAULO, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Italian power company Enel SpA has bought Brazilian power distribution company Celg-D on Wednesday for 2.18 billion reais ($647 million) at an auction held in Sao Paulo, the organizers said.

Celg-D is controlled by Brazil's state-run power holding company Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA. Enel was the only company to make a bid at the auction, and its offer represented a 28 percent premium over the minimum asking price.
