Brazil toll road operator posts lower profit as traffic slumps

SAO PAULO, March 6 (Reuters) - CCR SA, Brazil's biggest toll road operator, reported a 31 percent drop in fourth-quarter net income on Monday due to slumping traffic and higher debt costs.

Net income fell to 170 million reais ($54 million) in the quarter, according to a securities filing on Monday, missing an average estimate of 222 million reais among analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, excluding non-cash items, was little changed from a year ago at 988 million reais, missing an average estimate of 1.192 billion reais.
