Brazil's Cemig raises divestiture program to 8.04 bln reais

SAO PAULO, July 7 (Reuters) - Brazil’s power firm Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais SA, or Cemig, raised on Friday the expected value of its divestiture program to 8.046 billion reais ($2.45 billion) from around 6 billion reais announced previously.

In a securities filing, Cemig reaffirmed its plans to sell stakes in projects such as the hydroelectric dams Santo Antonio and Belo Monte, in the Brazilian Amazon. It also plans to sell subsidiaries such as Cemig Telecom, as a way to reduce debt.
