Brazil's Eletrobras says chair of the board resigns

SAO PAULO, July 28 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-controlled power holding company Eletrobras on Friday said the chair of the board Elena Landau resigned from the post, due to personal reasons, according to a securities filing.

Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA, as the company is formally known, said economist José Guimarães Monforte was elected as the new chairman. (Reporting by Marcelo Teixeira, editing by G Crosse)
