Petrobras pension fund approves plan to address yawning deficit

SAO PAULO, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Petroleo Brasileiro’s pension fund Petros has approved a plan to address a 27.7 billion real ($8.86 billion) deficit, the Brazilian state oil giant said on Tuesday.

As part of the plan, Petrobras, as the company is known, will contribute 12.8 billion reais to the cash-strapped fund over 18 years. Petrobras will put in 1.4 billion reais in the first year.
