Eletrobras could still sell subsidiaries in June, says CEO

SAO PAULO, May 10 (Reuters) - Brazil’s state-controlled power holding company Eletrobras could still manage to sell a group of power distribution subsidiaries in June, despite a tight schedule, the firm’s Chief Executive Wilson Ferreira Jr said on Thursday.

Ferreira also said that a draft bill passed by a Brazilian congressional committee this week could allow the company to receive up to 8 billion reais ($2.25 billion) in compensation it has requested to the government. ($1 = 3.5507 reais) (Reporting by Luciano Costa; Editing by Christian Plumb)
