Brazil's Eletrobras may cut workforce by 3,000 this year -CEO

SAO PAULO, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Wilson Ferreira, Chief Executive Officer of state-controlled power holding company Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras), said on Wednesday the company may cut its workforce by 3,000 employees this year.

Ferreira told analysts 736 people have already taken part in a program that aims to reduce the workforce by offering incentives to employees willing to leave the firm. (Reporting by Luciano Costa; Writing by Tatiana Bautzer Editing by Susan Thomas)
