Brazil's ABPA says 152 food plants suspended production

SAO PAULO, May 25 (Reuters) - Brazilian meat group ABPA said on Friday 152 poultry and pork processing plants suspended production as nationwide truckers’ protests crippling roads continue to hamper the delivery of animal feed for a fifth day.

The figure was updated from 120 units Thursday, the group said in a statement, alluding to the effects of the blockades. Lack of feed supplies may cause millions of birds and hogs to die, ABPA said. (Reporting by Ana Mano)
