BUENOS AIRES, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Argentina’s state-owned oil company YPF SA, along with Pampa Energia SA, will invest $150 million in an unconventional gas pilot project after Neuquen province extended its concession by 30 years, YPF said on Wednesday.
* Pilot project will consist of drilling of 13 horizontal wells to continue development of Mulichinco tight gas formation in the Rincon del Mangrullo concession
* Pilot will also explore Vaca Muerta shale gas and Las Lajas tight gas formations
* Concession had been set to expire in 2022, but Neuquen agreed to extend it to 2052 in exchange for investment
* YPF and Pampa have produced gas from the Mulichinco formation in 183 square-kilometer (45,220.28 acre) Rincon del Mangrullo since 2013 (Reporting by Luc Cohen and Juliana Castilla)
