HOUSTON, March 18 (Reuters) - Colombia’s state-run Ecopetrol and the Cartagena refinery launched a tender to buy one 260,000-300,000 barrel cargo of gasoline RON 92, to be received on April 13-15 at Mamonal port, according to a document seen by Reuters on Tuesday.
The crude distillation unit (CDU) and the cracking unit of the 80,000 barrel per day (bpd) Cartagena refinery, operated by Ecopetrol, have been shutdown because of a planned major expansion that will last for the rest of the year.
Since the company halted the CDU earlier this month, tenders to import finished fuels have increased. Last week the company offered to buy five cargos of ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD), one combined cargo of ULSD and gasoline and one cargo of diluent naphtha for March-April.
The company will receive bids for this tender until March 19 and they must be indexed to unleaded gasoline 87 from the U.S. Gulf Coast. (Reporting by Marianna Parraga; editing by Anna Driver)
