S.Korea's KOMIPO buys 570,000 T coal for July-Sept

SEOUL, May 9 (Reuters) - Korea Midland Power Co Ltd (KOMIPO)
has bought 570,000 tonnes of Colombian, Russian and
Indonesian bituminous coal for shipment between July and
September via three spot tenders that closed on May 4, a source
from the utility said on Monday.
One of the tenders had originally been for 210,000 tonnes of
bituminous coal, but the utility only bought 70,000 tonnes as
the price was too high. Another tender for 160,000 tonnes of
anthracite coal was cancelled as the bid price was too high. The
utility said it was unsure when the tenders will be reissued.
