CORRECTED-Fresnillo says Q3 silver production up 6.7 pct

(Corrects unit in third paragraph to “220,000 ounces” from “220 kilogram ounces”)

Oct 12 (Reuters) - Silver and gold miner Fresnillo Plc said third-quarter silver production rose 6.7 percent on a silver equivalent basis, helped by strong performance at its San Julian and Silverstream mines.

** Company, which mines from six mines in Mexico, reports Q3 silver production of 11.8 million ounces (moz) for the quarter ended Sept. 30 after production starts at its San Julian mine; increased production from Silverstream mine.

** Fresnillo reports gold production of 220,000 ounces (koz), up about 21 percent from last year as recovery speed at Herradura and Noche Buena mines rose

** Gold production also up due to higher volumes processed at Herradura mine

** Company says on track to achieve recently raised full year gold production forecast of silver production forecast of 49 million - 51 million ounces and gold forecast of 850,000-870,000 ounces.
