BRIEF-Mota Engil wins new contracts, increases Latin America's backlog by 400 mln euros

Oct 28 (Reuters) - Mota Engil SGPS SA :

* Said on Thursday that its unit Mota-Engil Mexico won 228 million euro ($248.7 million) contract in consortium where it holds a 74 percent stake; the contract is for maintenance and operation of a 130 km highway in Mexico for a period of ten years as of December 2017

* Additionally Mota-Engil Mexico was awarded a 90 million euro contract for construction, operation and maintenance of the Veracruz Bridge

* Also in Mexico its unit Sociedad Generadora Fenix was awarded a right to sell 314.6 thousand Clean Energy Certificates per year for a period of 20 years, starting in 2019

* The company was awarded 21 million Euro contract in Peru for improvement Huari’s hospital

* The company was awarded two infrastructure contracts in Colombia for the total of 41 million euros, will be responsible for construction of a drainage system and for river bank protection and urbanisation works in Magdalena river

* As part of a consortium with 20 percent stake the company won a contract for widening and improvement works of roads connecting Asuncion and Ciudade del Este in Paraguay, with an investment totalling 275 million euros

* Says contracts will contribute to increase Latin America’s backlog by more than 400 million euros
