Peru's economy grew 2.31 pct yr/yr in July -govt

LIMA, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Peru’s economy grew 2.31 percent in July from the same month a year earlier, but contracted at a seasonally-adjusted rate of 0.34 percent in July from June, state statistics agency Inei said on Friday.

The year-on-year expansion in July was slightly under the 2.55 percent median estimate of a Reuters poll.

In the first seven months of 2018, Peru’s economy expanded by 4 percent, while the annualized growth rate through July was 3.39 percent, Inei said. (Reporting By Mitra Taj Editing by Chris Reese)
