Brazil's current account deficit above 2% of GDP - central bank

BRASILIA, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Brazil’s current account deficit as a share of gross domestic product widened to 2.05% in the 12 months to September, the central bank said on Thursday.

The monthly deficit of $3.5 billion was slightly less than the $3.95 billion shortfall forecast in a Reuters poll of economists, while foreign direct investment of $6.31 billion was more than the Reuters poll estimate of $4.2 billion.
