Chile says consumer prices rose 0.3 pct in April

SANTIAGO, May 8 (Reuters) - Chile’s consumer price index rose 0.3 pct in April, above market expectations for a rise of 0.1 percent, the government said on Tuesday.

Inflation in the last 12 months was 1.9 percent, hovering just below the low end of the central bank’s target range of 2 percent to 4 percent.

Core inflation CLCPIX=ECI was 0.4 percent in April, the government said. (Reporting by Santiago bureau)
