Peru's new finance minister sees growth quickening to 4 pct this year

LIMA, June 14 (Reuters) - Peru’s new finance minister, Carlos Oliva, told Reuters he thinks the economy will grow by about 4 percent this year, faster than the government’s current view of 3.6 percent, on recovering investments and construction activity.

In his first interview with foreign media since taking office a week ago, Oliva on Thursday also said he would continue efforts to convert Peru’s sovereign debt in dollars to debt in the local sol currency. (Reporting by Marco Aquino; Editing by Richard Borsuk)
