BOGOTA, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Net profit at Colombian holding company Grupo Argos SA was up 8 percent in the second quarter to 233 billion pesos ($78 million) compared with the same period last year, the company said on Tuesday.
The increase was due to Argos’ interests in energy, airport concessions and cement, the company said in a filing to the financial regulator.
Income was up 1 percent between April and June, compared with the year-ago quarter, to 3.6 trillion pesos, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were up 2 percent, to 891 billion pesos.
In the first half net profit was up 26 percent to 454 billion pesos, the company said, compared with the same period in 2017. ($1 = 2,983.93 Colombian pesos) (Reporting by Nelson Bocanegra Writing by Julia Symmes Cobb Editing by Matthew Lewis)
