BOGOTA, May 23 (Reuters) - Colombia has revised its gross domestic product growth for the first quarter of 2018 to 0.7 percent compared with the fourth quarter of last year after an “exhaustive” revision, the national statistics agency said on Thursday.
The agency had said on May 15 that the economy grew 0.4 percent in the first quarter compared with the fourth quarter. The new figure incorporates the effect of national holidays in March, the agency told Reuters.
The growth figure of 2.2 percent for the first quarter compared with the first quarter of last year remains unchanged.
This year the statistics agency has revised the baseline for its GDP calculations. (Reporting by Nelson Bocanegra Writing by Julia Symmes Cobb)
