Mexico central bank cuts rates 50 basis points to 6.50%

MEXICO CITY, March 20 (Reuters) - The Mexican central bank said on Friday it had reduced its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points to 6.50% in an out-of-cycle cut in a bid to support the country’s financial markets, which have been roiled by the coronavirus outbreak.
